Civic Saturday: 'Out of Many'

Saturday, January 31, 2026 - 11:00AM Sheldon Museum of Art
Civic Saturday returns to Sheldon Museum of Art on January 31 with the theme “Out of Many” inspired by the exhibition “Hyphen American: Intersections of Identity” and the ways artists reflect the American experience and how “Americanness” shows up amid many different, overlapping “American” identities. This Civic Saturday gathering is a special chance to wrestle with hyphens, identities, the power of plurality, and belonging in a public, joyful, reflective way.

Civic Saturday and Sheldon Museum of Art are free and open to everyone.

About Civic Saturday

Civic Saturdays, organized by Civic Nebraska, are an opportunity for friends and strangers to connect around the values and practices of being an active citizen, reckoning with our nation’s creed, building relationships, and creating new civic traditions that are joyful and communal.

About Civic Nebraska

Civic Nebraska reflects and responds to the state’s unique civic identity: a one-house, officially nonpartisan Legislature; a mix of rural, urban, and suburban communities; a longstanding culture of volunteerism; and one of the most distinctive electoral systems in the nation. Civic Nebraska works directly with communities to build programs that make sense for their geography, history, and needs.
