Since 1888, forward-thinking stewards of Sheldon Museum of Art’s growing collection have regularly organized exhibitions that feature recent masterworks of contemporary art. The museum has acquired more than two hundred fifty artworks directly from artists participating in these exhibitions through the support of generous collectors and donors. This survey will include approximately twenty such pieces that exemplify the depth and breadth of Sheldon’s holdings.

Support for this exhibition and its programming has been provided by Ethel S. Abbott Charitable Foundation Exhibitions and Programs Fund and the Dillon Foundation.
