Exhibition
In Conversation: Black
August 9, 2019 through December 31, 2019Showcasing objects that are dominated by the color black, this exhibition is an investigation into the theme of darkness. Its monochromatic paintings, photographs, prints, and sculptures invite the viewer to contemplate detail concealed in shadow and revealed in light. These direct confrontations with darkness provide the viewer a heightened awareness of each object’s essence. Works by Roy DeCarava, John Divola, Adolph Gottlieb, Michelle Grabner, Martin Puryear, and Richard Serra are included.
