Intersecting Identities

August 9, 2019 through December 31, 2019
  • Lalla Essaydi, Les Femme du Maroc, #25, A & B, (The Women of Morocco).
  • Roger Shimomura, Kabuki Play.
  • Zao Wou-ki, Le Signe Remue (The Sign Stirs).
  • Yinka Shonibare, The Sleep of Reason Produces Monsters (America).

Drawn from Sheldon’s collection, Intersecting Identities offers a selection of artworks that present the complexities of lived experience. Created by or depicting people of color, these works engage in a dialogue on how race intersects with other facets of identity—such as ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, and social class.
