nonObjectivesMay 16, 2017 through July 23, 2017
This summer Sheldon celebrates nonobjective painting with an exhibition drawn from the museum’s permanent collection. Including masterful examples of abstraction and color field painting, works on display span decades and feature several rarely seen canvases and recent acquisitions.
With paintings by Dan Christensen, Gene Davis, Richard Diebenkorn, Lorser Feitelson, Amy Feldman, Peter Halley, Willy Heeks, Carmen Herrera, Odili Donald Odita, Sean Scully, David Simpson, Cary Smith, Leon Polk Smith, and Frank Stella, nonObjectives is a vibrant chronicle of the evolution of reducing art to its essential qualities.
