In 1971, Sheldon received a sizable gift of paintings, prints, sculpture, and ceramics from the estate of Bertha Schaefer, a New York gallerist and interior designer. In presenting together several important works from her collection, this exhibition underscores the ongoing legacy of such a significant contribution to the museum.
