Sheldon continues an exhibition of some of its most important and best known objects, including works by Louise Bourgeois, Aaron Douglas, Hans Hofmann, Robert Motherwell, and Georgia O’Keeffe.

On March 13, 2019, Leo Mazow, the Louise B. and J. Harwood Cochrane Curator of American Art at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, presented “Edward Hopper’s ‘Hotel Consciousness’” a Sheldon CollectionTalk on Edward Hopper’s painting Room in New York. The lecture was cosponsored by the Hixson-Lied Visiting Artist & Scholar Lecture Series of the School of Art, Art History & Design at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.
