Humanities on the Edge Lecture with Roque Raquel Salas Rivera

Roque Raquel Salas Rivera will deliver a talk titled “Anguila Translations and Slippery Gender Practices.” Salas Rivera is an assistant professor of Comparative Literature at the University of Puerto Rico–Mayagüez and an acclaimed poet and scholar whose work engages language, gender, and Puerto Rican cultural identity.

Since its founding in 2010, the Humanities on the Edge speaker series has advanced its mission to foster cross‑disciplinary dialogue and theoretical inquiry in the humanities. Presented in partnership with Sheldon Museum of Art, the series brings leading scholars to share new research and critical perspectives with the campus and broader community.
