A World History of the American Revolution: A Conversation with Sarah M.S. Pearsall

Pearsall, Professor of History at Johns Hopkins University discussing her new book, Freedom Round the Globe: A World History of the American Revolution (Knopf Doubleday, 2026). Most international histories have considered the effects of the American Revolution on the world; Pearsall instead focuses on the effects of the world on the American Revolution. She uncovers the insurgents in the Caribbean, Asia, Africa, Europe, and North America who shaped the foundations of the United States. Dr. Margaret Jacobs, Charles Mach Professor of History, will moderate. Reception and book signing to follow.
