"America's Civil War: Then and Now" | A lecture by Jeremi Suri

Jeremi Suri, Mack Brown Distinguished Chair for Leadership in Global Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin, is the author and editor of eleven books on contemporary politics and foreign policy, most recently Civil War By Other Means: America’s Long and Unfinished Fight or Democracy. He also hosts the weekly podcast This is Democracy, which illuminates ways in which the past offers hope for the present and the future, if only we can escape the negativity of our current moment.
Professor Suri will share insights from his scholarship on the Civil War, including historical divisions in the US and connections to current affairs.
